Multi-Material Blend Calculator — Blended Properties

Calculate blended density, strength and quantities for multi-material printing.

How We Calculate This

Blend Calculations

  • Blended density = 1 ÷ (Ratio A ÷ Density A + Ratio B ÷ Density B). Because the blend ratio splits the total weight by mass, the densities are combined by the reciprocal (harmonic) rule — volumes add, not densities.
  • Strength estimate = Weighted average of material strengths (rule of mixtures)
  • Safe temp range = Overlapping range of both materials
  • Quantities = Project weight × Mass ratio for each material

Blended properties are rule-of-mixtures estimates. The density is exact for a uniform mix, but strength and temperature depend on layer adhesion, mixing method and print settings.

All calculations are estimates. Always verify settings with test prints before committing to final prints.
