Relief Depth Calculator — Bas-Relief Feature Depth
Determine optimal depth for bas-relief features based on layer height.
Finer = more depth levels
Width/height of the relief area
How We Calculate This
Relief Depth Formulas
- Optimal depth = Feature size x Depth ratio (3-15% depending on relief type)
- Actual layers = Desired depth / Layer height (rounded)
- Adjusted depth = Actual layers x Layer height (snapped to layer boundary)
- Min feature width = Nozzle diameter x 1.5
Low relief uses 3% of feature size, medium relief 8%, and high relief 15%. The adjusted depth snaps your desired value to the nearest layer boundary for accurate reproduction.
